Meditation helped me to gain a better perspective on life
As a General Practitioner, and also having spent many years working in the area of breast cancer, I’ve always had a deep interest in meditation and mindfulness as part of a holistic approach to treating patients. “In the meditation I felt like I wasn’t even in the office. I could see the emerald green eucalyptus tree and tiny insects and the bush sounds. Crickets. I couldn’t say thank you because I didn’t have the words … Your body needs meditation. If it’s thirsty you drink water. If your body is hungry, you eat food. But if you need something for your mind people just watch television to switch off. That’s not what your mind needs. It’s hiding the stress with a blanket of amusements. The only way to give it what it needs is meditation.”
